Yesterday, I had an opportunity to take Google Glass out to explore the new Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons at GVSU. It was a great opportunity to talk to students and staff around the potential of such an amazing technology like Google Glass.
Below is a video of the ASRS (Automated Storage and Retreival System) which stores up to 600,000 books. Jackie from the library provides a short explanation of how it works!
What are your thoughts about leveraging the use of Google Glass at GVSU?
GVSU Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons
Greetings from Grand Valley State University!!!
After spending 20 years at Grand Rapids Community College focusing on distance learning and instructional technologies, I have transitioned over to GVSU and I’m on mission to advance teaching and learning through innovative technologies. Working out of the Information Technology department and in the new Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons, I am also focused on promoting, coordinating, and managing digital exhibits in the Teaching Showcase.
I’m super thankful for my time at GRCC and I’m looking forward to highlighting innovation at GVSU!
My goal for this blog is to capture experiences and to highlight educational technologies that have potential application in education.
The future of education will be shaped by our own creativity and imagination as we look to leverage technology in teaching and learning!
